Installation guide

How to install a vibration hour meter.

A reliable installation depends more on mounting location than electrical work. Xhour needs no machine wiring, but it must be secured to a protected, rigid surface that consistently transfers normal operating vibration.

Self-powered and no machine wiring. Xhour does not transmit data wirelessly.

1. Select the operating signal

Run the machine and identify rigid surfaces that vibrate whenever the equipment is genuinely operating. Check low-speed, idle, loaded, and unloaded conditions that should be included in the runtime record.

02

2. Choose a protected location

Avoid exhaust heat, moving parts, direct impact, loose panels, flexible hoses, heavy debris paths, immersion, and direct high-pressure washing. Make sure the display can be read and the meter can be inspected later.

03

3. Prepare and mount

Stop and isolate the machine according to its safety procedure. Clean and dry the surface. Attach Xhour with suitable industrial adhesive or screws, following the requirements of the equipment and mounting material.

  • Use a clean, dry, rigid surface
  • Secure the complete enclosure
  • Do not interfere with guards or service access
04

4. Verify and document

Record the initial display value. Start the machine through its normal operating range and confirm that time is added. Stop the machine, allow for the normal detection delay, and confirm that counting ends. Recheck the mounting after the first work cycle.

Common questions

Practical answers.

For model-specific or OEM information, contact the Xhour team directly.

Does Xhour need electrical wiring?+

No. Xhour is powered by its internal battery and detects vibration, so standard installation is mechanical rather than electrical.

Can I mount it on a loose cover?+

A loose cover can vibrate independently or fail to transfer normal machine vibration. A rigid, protected structure is normally a better location.

How do I confirm installation?+

Record the starting display, run the machine across the conditions you intend to count, and confirm that the displayed total increases and stops after shutdown.
